The working process of the fuse can be divided into four stages:
(1) The melt is heated to the melting temperature due to overload or short circuit;
(2) Melting and gasification of the melt;
(3) The gap between the contacts breaks down and generates arcs;
(4) The arc is extinguished and the circuit is disconnected.
The breaking capacity of the fuse depends on the arc extinguishing capacity. The length of the melt melting time depends on the magnitude of the passing current and the melting point of the melt.
